nlc programs

nlc institute

The NLC Institute is our flagship 6-month leadership training, bringing together leaders for a program rooted in equity, proximity, and collective action. Through the training, Fellows gain the tools, relationships, and clarity needed to drive meaningful impact in their communities by developing a capstone project, engaging in hands-on fundraising training, and applying their skills to the challenges they are closest to and best positioned to solve.

Applications for the 2027 NLC Institute open May 2026.

nlc next

NLC Next is a 3-month leadership development program for individuals ages 18 to 24 that provides a structured introduction to NLC’s leadership framework, Community, Leadership, and Movement, where young people are given a space and skills to connect with others from across the country who care about making a difference too.

Through a focus on workforce development, participants build foundational skills, explore career pathways, and gain the tools needed to navigate and succeed in their professional journeys.

building power
