Build the leader. shift the future.
At New Leaders Council, we train the people who change the world.
New Leaders Council is proud to announce NLC Next. NLC Next is a 3-month leadership development program for individuals ages 18 to 24 that provides a structured introduction to NLC’s leadership framework through a blended learning experience.
NLC Next is grounded in Community, Leadership, and Movement, where participants grow their networks, practice key skills, and step into their role within a broader ecosystem of leaders driving community-centered social and political change. Modeled after the New Leaders Council Institute, NLC Next builds foundational skills for participants to grow as leaders, build new skills, and connect with other young people who care about making real change.
nlc next goals
- Build Your Community
Connect with other young leaders from across the country who care about making a difference. NLC Next gives you a space to meet new people, share ideas, and build relationships that can support you long after the program ends.
- Grow Your Leadership Skills
Learn the core skills every young leader needs, like communication, advocacy, teamwork, and problem‑solving. Through hands‑on activities and real‑world practice, you’ll strengthen your confidence and learn how to lead with purpose.
- Create Real Impact
By the end of the program, you’ll design a project or advocacy idea that reflects what you care about. This is your chance to turn your passion into action and make a difference in your school, neighborhood, or community.
- Prepare for What’s Next
NLC Next helps you get ready for future opportunities, whether that’s joining the full NLC Institute, stepping into leadership roles, or continuing your journey in community and social impact work. You’ll leave with new skills, new connections, and a clearer sense of your path forward.
