Tselot Abdissa - 2024 NLC Sacramento Fellow

Tselot Abdissa (she/her) moved to the US as an eight year old from Ethiopia in 2003. She completed her undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and minor in Sociology at UC Santa Cruz, where she worked at the on-campus farm first as an intern and later as a garden assistant. She currently works as an Environmental Scientist at the California Department of Food and Agriculture. She enjoys volunteering at the International Rescue Committee’s New Roots Garden, making jewelry, traveling, biking, winemaking, and spending time with her own cat and other cats around midtown.

Tselot is passionate about food accessibility, farming/gardening, and public health.
