Sydney Medina - 2024 NLC Houston Fellow

Sydney Medina (she/her) is an organizer and strategist. In her current role at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, she orchestrates the development, guidance, and coordination of mobilization efforts in support of both state and federal legislative initiatives. Sydney's commitment to social justice fuels her advocacy for equitable healthcare and queer rights.

During her tenure as a Betsy Schwartz Fellow for Mental Health America of Greater Houston, Sydney embarked on the journey of dismantling barriers to healthcare access. Subsequently, while at the Texas Freedom Network, she honed her skills in organizing on college campuses, nurturing the growth of her passion for advocacy.

Sydney, a proud alumna of the University of Houston-Downtown with a Bachelor of Social Work, currently resides in Houston. Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds joy in spending quality time with her partner and exploring local parks.
