Selcuk Bakir

In their third year as Area Superintendent of Schools for the South Texas District of Harmony Public Schools, Selcuk Bakir brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership. Since joining Harmony in August 2010, Selcuk has served in various capacities, including Science Teacher, Science Department Chair, and multiple Assistant Principal roles, Principal at Harmony Science Academy El Paso for four years, Harmony Science Academy Lubbock for two years, and the Assistant Area Superintendent of College and Career for the DFW district for one year.

A graduate of Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, with a BS in Physics Education and an MS in Secondary Science and Math Education, Selcuk also holds an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from North American University. Outside of work, Selcuk is a parent of two and has a keen interest in educational technology and data-driven instruction.
