Sarah Imran - 2024 NLC Houston Fellow

Sarah Imran is a second-generation Pakistani-American, community advocate, and organizer, born and raised in Houston, Texas. Sarah graduated cum laude in May of 2023 from the University of Houston as a member of the Honors College, with a B.S. double major in Economics and Political Science. She has around 3 years of experience in the public sector, as she maintained roles in both elected officials' offices and various local nonprofits. In her current role, Sarah works with stakeholders and partners to advance her organization's policy priorities, as well as leading their get out the vote campaign to uplift the AAPI community in Houston. Sarah is passionate about and fulfilled by uplifting women, the queer community, as well as communities of color, and believes that the powerful intersection between these areas and fellow Muslims (as well as those of other faiths) can lead to deeper identities and healing for her community.
