Melaica Delgado - 2024 NLC Boston Fellow

Melaica Delgado (she/hers)believes in equity and accessibility for all to live the lives they’d like to lead. After graduating magna cum laude from Syracuse University in 2022, she began working on justice reform as an Associate Project Manager with the Policy and Community Engagement team at the Center for Policing Equity. She has a bachelors degree in Anthropology and Forensic Science; her first published work was featured in the Annals of Anthropological Practice in 2023.

Melaica began community organizing in the summer of 2020 for Black Lives Matter after the passing of George Floyd. She continued to engage with social movements for racial equity and sexual assault advocacy during her time in undergraduate. In her free time, she enjoys creating clothes through needle art and exploring the city. Melaica recently moved to Boston and is looking forward to connecting and building with her community.
