Maddie Nation - 2024 NLC Boston Fellow

Maddie Nation is a Boston-transplant with a dedication to ending homelessness. She believes in compassionate and human-centered approaches. This approach addresses homelessness by recognizing the need for permanent solutions, while still attending to peoples’ immediate needs.

Maddie is a Senior Policy Analyst with Homebase, a non-profit technical assistance provider focused on supporting communities across the country in developing their response to homelessness. In her role, Maddie elevates the perspective of individuals with lived experience of homelessness, builds peer learning communities, and facilitates consensus building conversations focused on systems-level change.

Prior to her work at Homebase, Maddie worked with organizations providing lifesaving to low-income individuals in Milwaukee, WI. She has a BA in Political Science from Boston College.

Maddie is also a Pine Street Innbassador and regular volunteer for dinner-service. She enjoys visiting new Boston Public Library branches, attending lectures across the city, and trying new vegan bean recipes.
