Lucy Hochschartner – Montana

Lucy Hochschartner is a climate justice activist with experience in political campaigns, fundraising, and communications. She believes in a world where people and planet thrive together. As a young person, she feels a deep desire to serve her generation and other marginalized communities most affected by the climate crisis.

She graduated from St. Lawrence University with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Government in 2020 and moved to Bozeman, MT to pursue an elite biathlon career (cross-country skiing and target shooting) and was excited to find a vibrant community of activists as well! In addition to spending much of the winter of 2021 racing for the United States Biathlon team in Europe, she has been busy learning from fellow changemakers and advocating for climate justice.

She's worked with the Montana Democratic Party as a Public Service Commission Campaigns Coordinator, the Montana Public Interest Research Group as a Communications Manager, the Gallatin Valley Sunrise Movement as a volunteer organizer, and On the Level, a new nonprofit project to make it easier to join the climate movement, as a co-founder. She also loves snacks, a good book or TV show, and hiking in the mountains!
