Kylan Simpson - 2026 NLC Washington DC Fellow

Kylan JaHaan Simpson (he/him) is a public health leader and environmental health consultant dedicated to strengthening health equity and environmental resilience across the DMV. Raised in Opelika, Alabama, he brings a deep commitment to community-rooted leadership to his role as Senior Environmental Health Consultant with the Maryland Department of Health. He also serves as a Visiting Professor at Chamberlain University, where he instructs emerging public health professionals.

Simpson holds degrees in international affairs (BS), public health administration (MPH) and public health leadership (DrPH). A recent 2025 Young, Gifted and Green 40 Under 40 awardee, he is passionate about climate justice, mentorship and helping communities build healthier, more sustainable futures.
