Khalil El-Khatib
Khalil El-Khatib - 2026 NLC Silicon Valley Fellow
Khalil El-Khatib (he/him) is an organizer for civic engagement and an economic justice advocate. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science, an associate’s degree in economics, and additional education in labor studies. Khalil attended West Valley College where he became involved in student government, later transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles where he graduated summa cum laude in 2023.
In his current role with the California State Assembly, he works to uplift constituents as they navigate the Bay Area’s affordability crisis to close the economic and social divide. These experiences furthered his passion for increased affordability initiatives, the development of public housing, streamlined and enhanced transit options, justice system reform, and community cohesiveness to build a stronger Bay Area for all.
