Chané Jones

Chané M. Jones, Esq. is the Founder of Black Girl in the Legal World, a blog and social media presence that provides tips and tools for young black women in the legal field. She currently serves as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Newark handling Labor & Employment matters across the City's departments. A Newark-native, Chané’s service and commitment to community has been recognized by others. She was named a 2019 Next City Vanguard Fellow, a 2020 Amina Baraka Empowering Women Award recipient, and a 2023 Community Influence & Service Award recipient from Newark's Caribbean Commission.

In addition to having a Juris Doctor degree, Chané holds a Bachelor of Science in Diplomacy and International Relations. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and serves as the North Jersey Representative for the Association of Black Women Lawyers of New Jersey.
