Carly Wacker (she/her) is a non-profit professional passionate about expanding community partnerships and engagement. Carly is the Recruitment and Training Manager for College Possible, a local college access non-profit supporting students from low-income backgrounds on their journeys to and through college. Her focus is to recruit, retain, and onboard AmeriCorps service members, provide personal and professional development opportunities during their service terms and lead operations for the Omaha site. Before stepping into her current role, Carly worked as Senior Program Coordinator and then Program Manager with College Possible, supporting all high school programming through curriculum development and organizational leadership. Carly graduated from SUNY Buffalo in Buffalo, NY, with a degree in English Literature, and after living and working abroad, she eventually found her way back to Nebraska. Her passions outside of educational equity and access include increasing young non-profit leadership through ynpnGO, advocating for reproductive justice and health access, and promoting youth development and civic engagement in rural, under-resourced areas. Carly and her partner, Derek, are from Wayne, Nebraska, and bond through their love of craft beer, home improvement projects, their babies Isla (human), and Ghost and Jasper (fur).
