Amulya Mandava - 2024 NLC Silicon Valley Fellow

Amulya Mandava (she/her) grew up in the South Bay. She was a rank-and-file organizer, Contract Education and Enforcement Chair, and finally the Vice President of her union, Harvard Graduate Student Union-UAW Local 5118. Her work on the link between higher-ed labor organizing and federal law has appeared in The Christian Century and Non-Profit Magazine, as well as panels for Higher Ed Labor United, and the Organization of American Historians. Amulya also organized with Unite All Workers for Democracy, the reform caucus of the UAW International, and is currently a volunteer with the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC). Her work centers race and gender justice, and she aims to contribute to the empowerment of working people in the Bay Area and beyond. Amulya received her BA in Anthropology from the University of Chicago, her Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, and her PhD in Anthropology from Harvard University.
