Place-Based. People-Powered. Equity-Focused. Training Tallahassee’s new leaders.
NLC Tallahassee is moving up to train individuals who create lasting community impact. Fellows and Alumni engage locally to create blueprints that tackle pertinent issues and empower leaders with the skills needed to advance in entrepreneurship, non-profit, and public service. Rooted in equity, we uplift proximate, place-based leaders as they support one another to create a more equitable political and cultural landscape.
We’ve empowered 100+ NLC Tallahassee alumni from 7 cohorts
Percentage of NLC Tallahassee alumni, from Class 1 to Class 7, who continue to give back in the Big Bend region.
We’ve provided over 10,000 hours of training to emerging leaders at no cost to participants.
NLC Tallahassee is a resilient leader in the Big Bend Community. In the face of challenges – COVID-19, the racial justice reckoning and movement for Black Lives, and a divided political climate – we rise to meet the needs of our community by raising the next generation of leaders. We will always challenge the status quo and push for community education, health, and wellbeing.
NLC is the key for those of us ‘broke but brilliant’ young leaders who strive for change. While many other programs cost thousands of dollars and effectively limit Black, Brown, and leaders of color from entering business, non-profit, or public service excellence, NLC Tallahassee bridges the gap by providing useful leadership skills virtually for free. I am so thankful to have completed the Institute, met many like-minded friends and fellow change-makers, and for the opportunity to continue this work as a NLC Tallahassee board member.
