Building a cross-sector, diverse coalition of emerging leaders throughout St. Louis.
NLC St. Louis works to foster a joyful, interconnected system of place-based leaders in Missouri. We do this by centering proximate leaders in our community, with a focus on uplifting an individual’s lived experience. Through our programming, NLC St. Louis cultivates a system of accountability and kinship in order to dismantle traditional power structures within our region.
Since our founding, we’ve trained over 150 place-based leaders in St. Louis
The 2021 cohort represented 8 different sectors, including government, nonprofit, law, education, communications, politics, and arts.
Two of our alumni were selected to lead a 25-person federal stimulus advisory board.
I loved my cohort and the variety of experiences, expertise, and fields they represented. Mostly, I enjoyed building relationships with them as whole people and look forward to deepening those relationships with action and organizing within our communities.
I love my cohort! They’re the best part of NLC. We had grad students, corporate leaders, medical professionals and non-profit leaders. We had more non-profits than anything else so I’m interested in how they felt about the diversity but for someone with a corporate background, the group kept me grounded in a way I’ve never gotten working in my field.
