Kierra McCray – Tallahassee

Kierra McCray (she/her) is an educator, humanitarian, member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and visionary/founder of Purpose and PowHer, a nonprofit located in North East Florida whose mission is to create bold, confident, and courageous young girls that will change the world. Purpose and PowHer is a part of her pledge to inspire girls to discover their dreams, design a safe, equitable, and inclusive system and build the next generation of women leaders. Currently, Kierra is a Program Director for the I'M A STAR Foundation. McCray trains, coaches and supervises all staff and volunteers. She coordinates academic and enrichment activities for students, parents, and partnering programs and implements targeted student retention programming. Kierra lives in Jacksonville, Florida, where she enjoys reading, traveling, and volunteering. She is a graduate of Bethune Cookman University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and is currently pursuing a Masters of Higher Education Administration from the University of North Florida with goals of becoming a University President and Consultant. Kierra remains a passionate advocate for education, social justice, continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
