We hope you saw Mark Riddle’s heartfelt note to this community last week. After nearly nine years of distinguished service, Mark is transitioning out of the role of NLC President, and a search committee has been convened to conduct a national search for the next President of our organization. We have the profound honor and momentous responsibility of selecting the person who will lead NLC into the next chapter of its bright future.
Over the coming weeks, we will endeavor to identify and put forward to the NLC Board of Directors an exceptional candidate to lead New Leaders Council during this critical time for our nation and moment of growth and opportunity for NLC.
Please find the job announcement for the President role by clicking here. We ask that you please share this widely with your networks, and please ask potential candidates to carefully note the application instructions contained in the announcement. The committee may elect to engage one or more outside consultants to help with the search, and we will follow up with more information if that occurs.
Our goal is to introduce NLC’s next President at our annual national convention this July in Des Moines, IA. We will accept applications in April and conduct interviews in May, and we expect to present the finalists to the Board of Directors in June, ahead of a final selection and notification by the first week of July. It’s an ambitious timeline, and we are counting on the well-connected folks throughout this community to help us publicize this unique opportunity.
Candidates can feel secure that their submitted materials, their conversations with the committee, and even their candidacy will be kept in the strictest confidence. Search committee members have committed to administering an equitable process that will balance the transparency our community deserves with the privacy and professional security of our applicants. Committee members will be glad to discuss the search process, goals, and timeline, but we will not publicize information about the candidates or the committee’s internal discussions.
We welcome your feedback, questions, comments, and most importantly your referrals. You can reach the committee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This committee is deeply grateful to Mark for his dedicated service and leadership, and we’re counting on his continuing friendship in his future professional endeavors.
Thank you in advance for your support and engagement, and we look forward to seeing you and welcoming our new President in Des Moines.
