Tierney Berlinski – Oakland

Tierney Berlinski hails from Santa Cruz, and moved to the Bay Area in 2008 to complete her Communications Studies degree at San Francisco State University. Tierney is interested in creating and maintaining equity through positive socioeconomic and cultural change. She takes an intersectional approach to her work and recognizes the value in meeting everyone where they're at, while still advocating for progressive shifts. Tierney currently works as a Healthcare Program Coordinator at JVS, where she coaches medical assistant trainees from marginalized communities entering the healthcare field. She is the Co-Chair of the Dismantling White Supremacy Culture SubCommittee where members are co-conspirators dedicated to bringing an anti-racist, inclusive, and intersectional lens to building and fostering equity amongst staff, their clients, and their organizational partners. Tierney thrives in understanding and managing large systems of information, providing resources to her networks, and ensuring everyone has the tools they need to succeed. In her spare time, Tierney enjoys gardening, hiking, running, cooking, and a variety of arts and crafts. She is currently studying data analytics and is an editor for the California Alpine Club, a nonprofit volunteer-run collective of outdoor enthusiasts and conservationists.
