Theresa Thanos - Columbus
Theresa Thanos is an educator with teaching experience in rural and urban contexts, serving secondary and post-secondary students. Above all, Theresa believes in the unique and meaningful relationships between educators and their students, the dialogic interactions among them that push thinking and transform spaces, and a commitment to education fostering equitable change in communities. In 2020, Theresa earned her doctorate from The Ohio State University in Teaching and Learning. At OSU, Theresa taught field-practicum and Writing Methods courses and supervised student-teachers in 30+ secondary schools across Central Ohio. Theresa contributed as a field researcher and discourse analyst in an Institutional Educational Sciences (IES) sponsored grant on the teaching and learning of argumentative writing. Currently, Theresa is teaching middle school Writing on the West side of Columbus. In her free time, Theresa enjoys being with her children, James and Naomi, and cherishing time on Middle Bass Island in Lake Erie, Ohio.
