Samrawit Silva - New Hampshire
Samrawit Silva (she/her), is a black Tigrayan immigrant eager to tackle all the ugly aspects of society. It’s at UNH that she became heavily involved in social justice, partaking in forming the 8PercentSpeaks movement. It’s her passion for justice that brought her to 350NH where she worked as an Electoral Climate Organizer. From helping organize peaceful protests throughout the US to visiting Tigrayan refugees in Sudan, Samrawit is always trying to bring attention to critical issues. Her focus for the past two years has been raising awareness for the Tigray genocide that continues to be waged on her family. She continues to advocate for black lives everywhere and is honored to now be the Organizing Director for BLM Seacoast. Samrawit believes that injustice whether it be in NH or in Tigray are all connected and hopes to work with her community to build a more just and equitable world.
