Nnenna Lewis is a longtime community activist committed to advocating for racial and economic justice in north and northeast Portland, Oregon. Nnenna is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she has dedicated herself to serving on the Economic Development Committee. Nnenna is a small business owner of Triangle Maintenance of Oregon, a Janitorial and construction cleanup company, and sits on the board of Community Chest Inc. A non-profit focused on improving the health of African American and people of color in their communities and families. Nnenna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Lewis & Clark College and expects to earn her MBA degree from Willamette University’s Professional MBA Program in December of 2020. After graduating from Lewis & Clark she traveled to Nigeria and Germany with the Nigerian National Basketball Team. Nnenna worked as the Health and Physical Education Teacher at Self Enhancement Inc. Academy Charter middle school, In-School Coordinator at Jefferson High School and Recreation Coordinator with the Afterschool Programs of Jefferson High School in partnership with Self Enhancement Inc. in Portland, Oregon. Nnenna currently works at the Portland Business Alliance, serving as the HR Manager. Through the Portland Business Alliance, Nnenna also served as a Community Court Coordinator, providing facilitation of the Theft Accountability Class (TAC) for first-time theft offenders. Nnenna also assists with community networking, and relationship building with local government and agencies with a focus on civic engagement and mitigating housing, health, and employment disparities in her community. Combined with her education and professional experiences in government, private and the nonprofit sector, she is a valuable leader in the advancement of her community.
