Megan Murray – New Hampshire
Living in Amherst, New Hampshire, Megan is a wife and mom to three amazing kids who are all in Scouts BSA. She taught in public schools, and her children proudly attend public schools today. She believes deeply in the promise of education that is accessible and affordable. Working since she was 15 years old, and throughout college, she was, first, a community college attendee in her first year of schooling and then transferred to Lehigh University to complete her B.A. before moving on to attain her post-baccalaureate in education. She was the first in her family to attend and graduate college and is a first generation U.S. citizen on her mother's side. Her father grew up in a foster care placement where he lived from 5 -18 years of age. Advocacy for school food and nutrition, sustainable agriculture, racial equity and justice, women's issues, healthcare and mental health care are central to her life. Much of her public policy is shaped by the lived experiences of constituents and family. She is a state legislator representing Hillsborough District 22 and currently chairs the Young Democrats Caucus of the New Hampshire Legislature which comprises roughly 30 members whose ages range from 18-40 years old. She serves as an executive board member on the Hillsborough County Delegation as well and is the Deputy Ranking Democrat on the House Environment and Agriculture Committee.
