Leanna Pearson - New York City

Leanna L. Pearson is an advocate and Educational Leader seeking to disrupt and dismantle injustice and policies that negatively impact the most marginalized. She is currently completing an EdD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Howard University. Her research analyzes policies and their implications on the educational system and black children. She believes that socioeconomic status should not be a barrier to success and that it is her calling to assist in establishing just policies and critically analyze how current policies help and hinder those who are marginalized. Leanna holds a Master of Science in Secondary Education from St. John’s University; an MBA/Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Mills College; a Master of Music in Classical Voice & Opera and Advanced Certification in Vocal Pedagogy from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Spelman College. Leanna is a native Brooklynite.
