Kate Glantz – Los Angeles
Kate Glantz (she/her) is an entrepreneur and storyteller. In her current role as Head of Social Impact at Luma Pictures, she is building an impact venture studio to pilot and scale cultural initiatives that foster connections across ideological divides and catalyze civic participation. Prior to Luma, Kate was the Senior Director for Economic Opportunity at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and led regional social impact efforts at Lyft, where she rapidly incubated ideas into cornerstone programs like the Lyft Grocery Access Program and Lyft Community Grants. Kate has extensive entrepreneurship experience having spent time as a startup founder and ecosystem convener. Before serving as SEED SPOT’s Director of Entrepreneur Initiatives, she was the founder and CEO of Heartfully, a category-forging charitable wedding registry.
Early in her career, Kate managed global health communications and public diplomacy portfolios for the State Department and the Centers for Disease Control and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania and Senegal. She was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the DC Innovation Awards (2016), a Power Woman of DC Tech (2017 and 2018), and 50 on Fire in DC Tech (2018). In her free time, Kate is a Crisis Text Counselor, avid bowler, and French fry connoisseur. She received her B.A. in Political Science and African Studies from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
