Joanna Malachowsky - Columbus

Joanna Malachowsky (she/her) is Deputy Director of the Building Better Lives Initiative at the Franklin County Family and Children First Council. Through her work as an educator, coach, and community trainer she builds brain-friendly and equity-conscious spaces of resilience for young people and adults. In both her professional and personal life, Joanna works toward racial justice, community healing, and educational equity. Prior to her work at FCFCFC, Joanna taught middle and high school in New York City and Columbus. She graduated from Butler University with a degree in Urban Affairs and Pace University with a Masters of Science for Teachers in Special Education. Joanna happily makes her home in the Westgate neighborhood of Columbus, where she lives with her husband, Brian, and two children who are proud Columbus City Schools students. In her free moments, Joanna likes to sew, creating quilts and clothing for family and friends.
