Enrique Solis - Los Angeles
Enrique Solis (he/him) is a veteran educator in the San Fernando Valley. For the past 10 years, he has taught at every level of education from Pre-K to Freshmen Composition at California State University, Northridge. Enrique holds a Master's in English from CSUN, and currently teaches 6th grade English and Music.
As a fourth-generation Angeleno, Enrique has lived through decades of segregation, educational inequity, and unjust policing of communities of color in Los Angeles. Enrique strives to meet these varied and complex systemic issues through teaching at Partnerships to Uplift Communities, a charter organization whose aim is to galvanize the community to empower all stakeholders through education. He has also organized collaborations with Harvard Westlake, YALLWest, and P.O.P.S. (Pain of the Prison System) to give his students support through creative expression and the literary arts.
In his free time, Enrique enjoys training jiu jitsu and backpacking throughout Angeles National Forest.
