Duke Cooney - Sacramento

Duke Cooney is a youth advocate and changemaker. He believes that all children deserve to grow up in safe and supportive environments. In his current role with the All Children Thrive Campaign, Duke works with cities to advance policy change focused on reducing childhood trauma. Duke is a graduate of Sacramento State University, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Government and Performing Arts Degree in Dance. Upon graduation, he began his career in public service. His legislative roles within the California Assembly and Senate allowed him to influence solutions for issues ranging from disability rights, to fair wages for workers. He later worked as a Policy Associate with Conservation Strategy Group, fighting for funding to support the environment and combat climate change. Duke was recently appointed Commissioner on the Measure U Community Advisory Committee. He is also in his last year of a J.D. program at McGeorge School of Law.
