Cindy Pineda - Los Angeles

Cindy Pineda is a social justice-driven educator dedicated to youth development, racial equity, and closing the achievement gap. In her current role as Director with BUILD-National, she is responsible for developing strategic programming around youth entrepreneurship and post-secondary pathways. Previously, she worked on education policy reform in Washington DC before spending almost a decade serving the New York public school system through various roles in the nonprofit sector and higher education. Her work in New York specialized in educational equity, developing community-serving partnerships, and designing/implementing programs for first-generation students of color. Her devotion for social change has also led her on various international community-based projects.

Cindy is a proud Los Angeles native and holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley, and master’s degree from NYU. She is an avid world traveler, enjoys the outdoors, and is always in search of the best new taco spot with family and friends.
