Allie Farrell

She/Her

K-12 Education Program Coordinator, Social System Design Lab

Allie Farrell is committed to understanding, uncovering, and changing the entrenched systems that produce inequitable health and educational outcomes for children, youth, and families. She currently works with the Social System Design Lab (SSDL) in the Brown School of Social Work at WashU to engage young people, K-12 educators, and community leaders in applying the methods of systems thinking and system dynamics to solve problems. Allie graduated from UCLA with a degree in international development, and went on to do Peace Corps in South Africa, focusing on community HIV outreach and youth development. She returned to her home state of California to continue working with young people in schools, while coaching sports on the side. Allie has a Master of Social Work from the Brown School and joined the SSDL full time in 2018, where she leads the SSDL’s portfolio of K-12-focused work. Allie is a big believer in the power of centering relationships, collaboration, and capacity building.
