Alexandra Medeiros - Rhode Island
Alex Medeiros (she/her/ella) is an equitable education advocate and policy analyst. She is committed to improving the access and quality of education for the country's most vulnerable youth through policy reform and community organizing. She works to improve data collection and analysis systems in human resources at the Providence Public Schools Department (PPSD). As an intern in the School Improvement and Data and Assessments departments, she is examining the chronic absenteeism problem in the district. Alex earned her bachelor's degree cum laude from Williams College in 2020. She will graduate from Brown University with her master's in urban education policy in May 2023. She is a 2020 Teach for America corps member. She taught 2nd grade for two years at Achievement First Iluminar in Cranston. A native Rhode Islander, Alex lives in Providence and is dedicated to increasing family and student voices in future education policy reform.
