New Leaders Council is seeking an Events & Program Intern to assist the National Staff team in promotion and execution NLC’s Institute and major events. NLC Interns should be available for 10-15 hours a week. There is a $1,000 per semester stipend for this internship. Students receiving educational credit are strongly encouraged to apply.

Who We’re Looking For

NLC’s Events & Program Intern must be an innovative, rising star who is passionate about civic engagement, possesses a strong attention to detail, loves interacting with people from all over the country, and has a strong familiarity with event management. Previous experience in customer service is a big bonus.

New Leaders Council is dedicated to building rising generational leaders across the country through a six-month skill-building fellowship held annually in 50 communities across the country.  Through all levels of the organization, NLC upholds the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and only hires interns who share those values. 

Role and Responsibilities

The Events & Program Intern plays an important role by providing administrative, logistical, and constituent relations support to our national community.  Responsibilities will be divided between online community upkeep and communications and logistical support. 

In a typical day, an Events & Program Intern could find themselves doing any of the following:

  • Providing chapter support for their Fellowship;;
  • Tracking event registration and/or troubleshooting issues;
  • Speaker/trainer travel support;
  • Preparing event and program materials

NLC uses NGP/EveryAction. Knowledge of this platform is greatly preferred but NLC can provide training for the right candidate. There is potential for each Events & Program Intern to be a part of the Planning Committee for NLC’s National Convention in August of 2020.
