The San Francisco Foundation, Program Associate

Zach McRae is a Program Associate at The San Francisco Foundation. As an Program Associate, his responsibilities range from assisting senior staff in the strategy development of program initiatives and/or special projects, conducting research and evaluation for funding opportunities and provide recommendations for funding opportunities, and to serving as a liaison with community partners and key stakeholders.

Zach leads and coordinates specific projects that include Community Benefits Agreements (CBAs), criminal justice reform, education equity, anti-displacement and affordable housing strategies, and supporting small business development. Zach also leads and coordinates the partnerships between different public agencies and The San Francisco Foundation. Zach works between multiple teams at The San Francisco Foundation to help bridge collaboration within the Foundation to achieve its goal of improving regional racial and economic equity.

Zach is an experienced critical-thinker with a demonstrated history of working in the philanthropy industry and public sector. Skilled in Community Development, Neighborhood/Community Stabilization, Anti-Displacement Strategies, Community & Stakeholder Engagement, Partnership Management, Policy Analysis, Impact Investing, Personnel Supervision, Racial & Economic Equity Implementation, Affordable Housing, and Public Speaking.

Zach is a visionary leader that strategically and effectively implements projects. In addition, Zach exercises adaptive leadership and learning. Zach has a deep understanding of racial justice issues in the San Francisco Bay Area and committed to inclusion of historically disinvested communities.
