Tanais G. Garcia is an early childhood education professional seeking to create conditions for all children to thrive. She is an Executive Assistant for EmVision Productions, a boutique media agency for progressive organizations, and pursuing an Associate of Arts (Early Childhood Development and Entrepreneurship) at Bunker Hill Community College. Previously, she taught English as a Language and Culture Assistant in government schools in Murcia, Spain, as part of the Council on International Educational Exchange, and holds a TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) Certificate. Additionally, she grew from a Residential Counselor to a Unit Manager at The Italian Home for Children in Boston, where she managed daily operations in individualized and group therapy to children with behavioral and emotional challenges, to further their development. In 2017, Tanais was among 150 young emerging leader selected across MA for the Obama Foundation's first-ever Community Engagement Training Day in Boston, honing skills in storytelling, community building, and crafting ideas to effect change in our community. Tanais' work is informed by lived experiences as a native Bostonian from a working-class Dominican-Mexican immigrant family in Dorchester, and educational journey in METCO (Foxboro) and Mexico. For fun, she likes to cook, paint, and tinker.
