Shenee Simon
Chair, NLC Women's Caucus

Shenée L. Simon, is an independent researcher, consultant and advocate for girls and women. Recently founded S.H.E. Collective, a think & program tank rethinking women’s peace and security (WPS) for girls and women through research, advocacy and programs.

Shenée a Tennessee transplant from Richmond, VA is actively engaged locally, regionally and nationally with organizations and initiatives promoting gender equity, inclusion, and leadership. In the following roles: American Association of University Women-National Inclusion & Equity Committee member, state of Texas Public Policy and College/University Chair and Younger Women's Task Force San Antonio; Southeast Women's Studies Association, Membership Chair and Board Chair for Martinez Street Women's Center.

Shenée has a M.A. in Women & Gender Studies (Southern Connecticut University) M.A. in Human Resources Management (Rollins College) and B.A in Women's Studies & Leadership Studies (University of Richmond).

Shenée is a proud homeschooling mother of 4, and Army spouse. She was a 2018 NLC Fellow and quickly engaged in roles within NLC-both locally and nationally at present Selections Co-Chair and Mentorship Chair and National Diversity Trainer and former Mentorship Chair.

She is thrilled to join as a co leader of our caucus as she believes her experiences and work in this space will connect and support our members, initiatives, programs and the greater NLC community both internally and externally.

In her free time she enjoys binge watching Netflix series, collecting vintage accessories and spending time in the Texas heat with her fam!
