Born and raised in the Detroit, Michigan Shadora L. Ford is a graduate of Detroit Public Schools. She is the founder of Destined for Greatness Mentoring Initiative a outreach program for young ladies aged eleven through twenty-one. Since establishing DFG Mentoring in 2010, she has been highly recognized by the City of Detroit with the Spirit of Detroit Award, resolutions from Wayne County Clerk Cathy Garrett, State Representative Joe Tate, and Senator Stephanie Chang, to name a few. Through effective community organizing Ms. Ford humbly accepts a yearly award of partnership with the Wayne County Commissioners (Jewel Ware #2) Office and Detroit Public Schools Community District. In addition to operating Destined for Greatness, Ms. Ford is currently employed with the City of Detroit's Mayor's Office as a representative for District 4 Department of Neighborhoods. Her current position with the Mayor's office gives her the ability to help constituents and build relationships with community partners. Ms. Ford is a philanthropist for Community Connections Grant Program, a DPSCD School Advisory Council Board Member, Maxwell Unity Block Club President and Community Activist for women and minorities! In 2019 she became a proud cohort fellow of (DEAL) Detroit Equity Achievement Lab and BMe Vanguard fellow.
