Scott Smith is a Data Science Consulting Manager and works with organizations to better leverage their data and analytics through thoughtful data science initiatives. In this role, he serves a range of clients within both the public and private sectors, ranging from nonprofits, higher education institutions, and K-12 school systems to manufacturers, distributors, and financial institutions.
His professional experiences include strategy consulting; managing complex strategic technology initiatives for the Dallas Independent School District; providing data analytics guidance to schools, nonprofits, and Southern Methodist University’s (SMU) School of Education; and serving the students of Dallas as a Teach For America corps member. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from The College of Wooster, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
In addition to his professional experiences, he has spent considerable time volunteering with education reform and community support initiatives—serving as an analytics adviser to several nonprofit programs, supporting local school board elections, organizing advocacy events, and meeting with community stakeholders to help drive local progressive action.
Most importantly—he is happily married to the love of his life and a thankful father of a wonderful daughter.
