Sarah believes that individuals who are closest to a problem have the expertise to find a solution.This belief drives her professional ambition to help systems be responsive to the needs, values, and priorities of the communities they serve. Currently, Sarah works as a Discipline Policy Specialist for the Minnesota Department of Education. In this role, she is charged with convening local education experts, including students and families to collectively end the use of discriminatory discipline practices. Sarah also works as a consultant supporting education-focused organizations deepen their stakeholder engagement practices to help monitor and evaluate the impact of their programming.

Sarah holds a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor's degree from The Evergreen State College. More importantly, she considers herself a life-long learner. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, ceramics, exploring the outdoors, and reading.
