Sarah Souza is an advocate for racial and economic equity. She is the President of the San Francisco Latino Democratic, and the first Dreamer in California appointed to the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee. She proudly serves on the Board of Directors of La Raza Community Resource Center and the Vice-Chair of the Eastern Neighborhoods Citizens Advisory Committee.
She is a fierce leader at the forefront of immigrant issues and is working on state legislation to amend the election code to allow non-citizens to run for delegate. As a member of the San Francisco Democratic Party, Sarah introduced a resolution to allow non-citizens to have full membership to the California Democratic Party. The Bylaws Amendment has been adopted by the California Democratic Party. Now, all Californians will have a seat at the table.
She is passionate about affordable housing, immigration, economic justice, and equitable education, and proudly serves on the Board of Directors of La Raza Community Resource Center and the Eastern Neighborhoods Citizens Advisory Committee. She has been organizing for immigrant communities for over a decade and has met with multiple congressional members to advocate for humane and inclusive immigration reform. She is an active member of the National League of United Latin American Citizens and has participated in the Emerge Leadership Program for Latinx leaders.
