Volunteer Services and Outreach Coordinator, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Palm Beach
Sara Haas’ life goal is to leave the world a kinder, better place than in which she found it. She currently works as the Volunteer Services and Outreach Coordinator for Catholic Charities, Diocese of Palm Beach, where she works managing volunteers and organizing community outreach events. Prior to moving to West Palm Beach in 2019, Sara was in Cincinnati where she was born and raised. There she worked for Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services as an employment specialist working specifically with refugees and asylees. She is so proud of her clients there and their bravery. Her passion is working to empower women through program design and implementation. Sara graduated with her Bachelor’s in Political Science from Northern Kentucky University in 2012 and her Master’s in Political Science from Miami University in 2013. Her area of focus was Middle Eastern politics and the role of women in democratization. She was even lucky enough to teach American Politics at Northern Kentucky University after she graduated. As a native Cincinnatian, Sara loves the Cincinnati Reds, Skyline Chili, and Graeter’s ice cream. Her interests include traveling, reading, hanging out with her dog Lacie, going to the beach, and studying languages (she is currently working on Arabic and Turkish). Her heroes include Gloria Steinem, Harvey Milk, Audre Lorde, Benazir Bhutto, Denis Mukwege, Desmond Tutu, and Zainab Salbi.
