Sana Shahid
Emgage, Acting Executive Director

Sana Shahid currently serves as the Acting Executive Director of Engage's Texas Chapter which is a national nonprofit that works to empower and mobilize the American Muslim community. Sana is also currently the Field Director for the first Muslim woman to run for Sugarland City Council.

Before Engage, Sana was the Asian American/Muslim organizer for the Texas Democratic Party. Her role was to organize and mobilize communities of color for the 2018 midterm cycle. She has also worked on a Congressional campaign prior to that as the Communications Director. Outside of her political work, Sana is part of a feminist collective called South Asian Youth in Houston Unite (SAYHU) and was also one of the organizers for the Houston Women's March 2018 and was responsible for doing outreach into communities of color.

Having grown up in Karachi, Pakistan, Sana is passionate about serving POC and underserved communities through an intersectional framework. She hopes to continue building a network of changemakers around her, read more books in 2019 and see Hamilton live on Broadway.
