Samantha Purcell-Musgrave
United States Senate, Staff Assistant

Samantha Purcell-Musgrave is a graduate of the University of Central Florida (UCF), where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Administration and Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Communication. She complimented her degrees with a minor in Leadership and Certificates in Women’s Studies and Service Learning. Samantha is furthering her education by pursuing UCF’s Dual Master of Public Administration and Master of Nonprofit Management degree program.

During her time at UCF, Samantha was employed with the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Department. In her position as Supervisor and Support Staff, she assisted three Directors in the capacity of external relations, event management, and constituent relations.  Additionally, she has worked with Orlando Health’s Government Relations Department and Orange County Government’s Department of Legislative Affairs. In those roles, she gained in-depth knowledge of the legislative process, public policy research and how to build effective relationships with key stakeholders. These experiences have greatly assisted her in transitioning to her current employment with the United States Senate.

In her personal time, Samantha is involved in her community through Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando and Osceola County. She enjoys spending time with her family, finding new podcasts to listen to while traveling and playing video games. In the coming months, Samantha is looking forward to using her expertise to sharpen her skills in health policy to become an effective administrator in the medical field.

Samantha is looking forward to being a part of the 2019 Class of New Leaders Council Fellows to challenge herself to reach new heights!
