Ruby Oestreich is originally from the small town of Campbellsport in Wisconsin.
She is currently the Operations Informatics Analyst for the Referrals team of the northern Medical Group at Advocate Aurora Health. Specifically, she serves as a reporting analyst and helps to identify measures of success for workflow improvement for the referral process. This allows for more patients to have expedited access to medical specialists when needed.
After completing a BS in Zoology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she worked as a phlebotomist for two years both at a blood center and Meriter Hospital. From engaging with patients and donors of all walks of life, she was inspired to pursue a career in Public Health. Ruby attended the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and earned a Masters in Public Health with a focus on Administration and Policy in addition to a Certificate in Public Health Informatics. She is skilled at public speaking, project coordinating, and system design & analysis using continuous quality improvement strategies.
Her developing professional interests include program and budget management, mentoring, and increasing relationships with other non-profit professionals in Milwaukee. She enjoys knitting and sewing, hiking with her dog, seeing live comedy, and cooking meals completely from scratch.
