Rinora Jelliqi has been working for Consulate of Kosovo since 2016. She first came to the United States as a foreign exchange student with the YES program sponsored by the United States Department of State. She graduated from Central College with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Business. She is now pursuing a Master in Public Administration at Drake University while serving for her home country an Executive Assistant at the Consulate of the Republic of Kosovo. As a student, Rinora completed internships at the Des Moines Arts Festival and American Council of Young Political Leaders in Washington DC. She became President of Young Democrats at Central College and worked at the International Student Office, Student Development Center and as an Intercultural Educator. She has been awarded the Mastery in Leadership certificate by the Greater Des Moines Partnership for completing the Do More in the City program as an intern. She has participated in many speaking events about Kosovo, her work at the Consulate of Kosovo, women of Kosovo and to interns in the Greater Des Moines Area. In her free time she enjoys art and networking events. She is very passionate about international affairs, gender equality and business. Rinora has a cat named Kotele, which means kitty in her home language Albanian.
