Nick currently leads a team responsible for skilled volunteering programs at Google’s philanthropic arm, Google.org. Working to accelerate the impact of Google.org’s nonprofit grantees, Nick’s team develops and manages global programs to connect nonprofits to the expertise and skills of Google engineers, product managers, designers, and more. Previously, Nick co-developed Google.org’s two-year, $50M commitment to support tech-based solutions to close gaps in global education. He has developed and managed over $40M in grants to nonprofits using technology and innovation to address global challenges, with an emphasis on education and disabilities.

Before joining Google, Nick was the first employee at Vittana, a non-profit that pioneered the development of student loan products for the microfinance market, where he managed partnerships across 11 countries in Latin America and Africa.

Nick also brings a mix of progressive professional and volunteer experience to NLC, from organizing on President Obama’s 2008 campaign in North Carolina, to working as a DC-based legal assistant on landmark fair lending and fair housing lawsuits, to knocking doors for reform-minded school board candidates in Oakland, CA.

Nick earned a bachelor's in American Studies from Columbia University and an MBA with honors from the Berkeley-Haas School of Business, where he was Co-Chair of the Global Social Venture Competition. Nick has also served as an advisor to nonprofits Carbon Roots International and Trek to Teach.
