Nicholas Balderas serves as a Compute Lab Manager at Reynaldo G. Garza Elementary with the McAllen Independent School District. Nicholas is simultaneously working towards a state-approved teaching certification and Masters of Science in Computer Science degree at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
Nicholas has worked as a technology paraprofessional over the last four years alongside teachers and administration with established programs and technology trainings. Nicholas developed his passion to teach from substitute teaching with the Pharr San Juan Alamo Independent School District, where he worked with all grade levels, early childhood through 12th grade students. Nicholas is a dedicated individual who is personally committed to serving in public education and public education reform for students, teachers and paraprofessionals.
Previously Nicholas worked as an Information Technology Audio/Visual Technician where he serviced, maintained, repaired, and installed hardware and software campus wide at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Nicholas's passion for technology lead to the pursuit of a graduate degree in computer science where he plans to adapt it to research and his commitment to public education.
