Founder, Just As Special
Natasha Pepperl is a foster mom to a teen girl and the founder of Just As Special — a foster care podcast, online community, and resource center amplifying diverse perspectives of foster care. Just As Special was selected from more than 100 applicants to be part of House of Pod’s 2020 podcast incubator and won funding for a pilot season. The Just As Special podcast has been approved to count toward foster parent training hours. Natasha is also the founder of the digital marketing firm Pulse Perfect Consulting, which has worked with many of Denver’s movers and shakers including Rocky Mountain PBS, Denver Public Schools, and Colorado Succeeds. Natasha has helped many immigrant entrepreneurs start and grow their own businesses and launched her marketing career in the nonprofit world serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA at Mi Casa Resource Center. The daughter of a political refugee from Iran and a published poet, Natasha’s work explores her experience as a brown woman in America today. Her poetry will appear in the forthcoming edition of Lily Poetry Review and has been published by The Anti-Languorous Project, riverrun, and others. Natasha enjoys trail running and her large posse of houseplants. Her travels have allowed her to float in the Dead Sea at sunset, ascend Machu Picchu Mountain, explore Croatian caves, and jump into a very cold Norwegian fjord to name a few.
