Natania Carter is a passionate servant leader that is committed to supporting and facilitating economic growth and stability in communities. Natania is the Director of Operations for Atlanta CareerRise, a workforce funders collaborative focused on increasing regional prosperity in the metro Atlanta region. At CareerRise, she manages the organization's investments and is dedicated to exploring innovative strategies to expedite local workers' journey to economic self-sufficiency.
Prior to joining CareerRise in 2018, Natania was a member of the 2018 class of the National Urban Fellows, a 14-month accelerated graduate program fellowship in public administration. During her fellowship, she was placed with the Annie E. Casey Foundation-Atlanta Civic Site. At the Casey foundation, she conducted research and data analysis focused on increasing economic opportunity and managed racial equity programming in the Atlanta community. Simultaneously, she completed her capstone thesis entitled "Building Sustainable Black Communities in Atlanta - A non-traditional approach to building economic mobility". Her systems-thinking approach can be directly attributed to her background and experience in chemical engineering where she focused on process efficiency and optimization. Natania began her career as a process engineer with a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company prior to pursuing her passion and transitioning to the nonprofit sector.
Natania holds a Master in Public Administration from Baruch College and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Florida State University. She thoroughly enjoys playing soccer around the city, exploring hidden gems in Atlanta and being the hands and feet in her local church.
