Dr. Megan Nichole (Brown) Freeland is the owner of StockRose Creative, LLC where she serves as a Healthcare Copywriter and Content Marketing Strategist for health-related businesses and companies. Prior to her entrepreneurial transition, Megan supported the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a writer and public health pharmacist. Megan’s work at CDC included emergency and bioterrorism preparedness, regulatory support, health communications, antibiotic stewardship, and medication safety. While at CDC, she co-authored peer-reviewed articles that were published in CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) and the Journal of Patient Safety. She also completed the Dr. James A. Ferguson Emerging Infectious Diseases Fellowship hosted by CDC and the Kennedy Krieger Institute.

In 2007, Megan moved from Columbia, SC to Atlanta. She earned a BA in Spanish from Emory University, followed by a Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University. After completing her education, she jetted off to Indiana and New Jersey for a post-doctoral pharmaceutical industry fellowship. She served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Purdue University College of Pharmacy and supported drug and medical information units at Indiana University Health System and Janssen Scientific Affairs.

Since relocating to Atlanta, Megan has had the opportunity to serve populations in need both as an individual and through her esteemed sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Some of her most important work involved the Winn-Dixie Atlanta Hope Lodge and the Feminist Women’s Health Center (FWHC) Community Education and Advocacy Network and Health Education Training Committee.

Megan is a 2018 graduate of Emerging Leaders of DeKalb. She enjoys promoting the positive aspects of the Millennial generation through her blog and podcast, The LaziMILLENNIAL Lounge for Multi-Passionate Millennials. Megan loves mentoring youth, spending time with her husband and family, and observing her toddler-aged son learn new things about the world.
