Matthew Mellon is a Senior Associate with Guidehouse, a management consulting firm, where he focuses on organizational change management for state and local governments. Prior to his current role, while working in community-based public health and local policy advocacy, Matthew realized a passion for local government and its ability to improve the health and well being of its residents. This passion led him to his current role, where he works to solve organizational challenges and develop innovative ways for local governments to better achieve their missions.
Prior to his current role, Matthew's background included strategic planning for equitable food bank access in Arizona's immigrant communities, capacity building for community based health centers during healthcare reform implementation, and clinical research and health education in a pediatric asthma clinic. In order to blend his career interests in health equity and local government, Matthew completed graduate degrees in public health and public policy at the University of Michigan.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, where he also graduated from Xavier University with a degree in history, Matthew has also called Washington, DC and Chicago home before relocating to Austin, Texas. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys biking, cooking, caring for his growing plant collection, and exploring ways to get involved in his new home city of Austin.
